the 1000and1 lokta paper series is a collection of products which interpret traditional mold techniques from Nepal. The project follows the original way of papermaking in Nepal, where sheets are pulled from the frame, but changes it by pulling the objects itself with a frame holding straws. The shapes are constructed bymaking an imprint mark of the desired object, such as a bottle, a vase or other. Following this the device is taken to a basin with lokta pulp and water and the paper shape is pulled from the frame. the technique enables athe user to create a variety of shapes. another feature is the different texture on back and front of the paper, resulting from the net/ screen - the straws.
